Tape compatability Yamaha MT3X and the Tascam 244

Hi all, just a quick question to get me started , my son has discovered all the tapes that I recorded on some 18 yrs ago on a Yamaha MT3X , he wants to remix them on his Mac book to burn them to CD, I dont have the MT3X anymore but I have been offered a Tascam 244 for 50 quid , so the question is will the Tascam play the tapes which I recorded on the MT3X , are they compatable ? PS nice site I think I will linger around for a while !

The best answer I could give you, which may not be applicable to your machines, would be to try it with my MT4X and 424 and let you know what happens.
