Can anyone tell me how to pronounce this name?
I've been calling it "Tack-ah-mine" just like it is spelled for years... and someone told me the other day that is was "tack-a-mini".

How should this be pronounced?

the folks at Kaman, where they come from, say tack-ah-meen. But it depends on who you talk to over there, Ive heard it all three ways from the sales reps so I guess it doesn't really matter anyway.

The chap in my guitar shop corrected my pronunciation with ''tak-a-minee''. I had always been caling it ''tak-a-mine''. feeling silly, i opted for a Taylor :)

Ahahaha, and here we have the number one reason people don't buy from certain companies

If you're going to pronounce it in Japanese, it's a 4 mora word that sounds like:
tah-kah-mee-nay. It also has no accent on any particular mora.

Peace :)

Interesting... At least I dont feel as stupid now, even though we have no definitive answer....
I bet we could find an 800 number and call it... I would think you'd get the automated menu stuff and could here it pronounced there... Straight from the horses mouth

i pronounce it the way havok described, in Japanese.

Well I was close, can I have a cookie?

Ok, straight from the horses mouth

Called Kaman and listend to thier automated system...
They call it.
tah-kuh-me-ney

Lets break this down.... tah (like the sound you make when the doctor shoves that think in your mouth, but with a "t" in front) Kuh (like the word cut, but without the "t")... Mee (as in "me, not you")... ney (like the word knee... "my knee hurt when i fell")
tah-kuh-me-ney... takamine

I guess you can always make the argument "it depends on where you are from", but Im sure it was someones last name, and if so you should pronounce it the way they did...

That's the way I say it, except I scream it like a samurai in battle :D

I bought one in 1983 and have pronounced it "takkameanie" ever since... I have no idea if this is correct or not...

I always called it Take-a-weewee. Learn something new every day I guess.

according to webster it's pronunciation and not pronuciation.

no idea how that's pronounced though.
