I've owned tascams cdrw for a couple years now. It worked fine for most of the time that I had it. A few months ago it started giving me trouble. When I would turn it on, the "welcome" screen comes up and gets stuck there. Then the unit starts to make a clicking noise from the cd tray. In order to get the unit working I would have to turn it on and off until it would work. So from this point on I just left the unit on all the time.
Than I had to turn it off and pack it up to move. When i hooked it back up I couldnt get it past the "welcome" display. I tried to turn it on and off like before, but no luck. If just continues to click and struggle.
Any suggestions how I could fix this problem?
Is my unit shot?
I barely use it now that I have a Computer based system these days, but I was hoping to keep it for a backup unit.

thank you for your time

Considering the price of that unit, I'd at least investigate the cost of a repair.

I've got several PC-based burners on line but the CDRW from TASCAM has outlived a bunch of PC-drive replacements.

This might sound like a stupid question but, does anyone know how to look for a place that could repair it. Maybe a website. I just moved to a new location and dont know where to get it checked out and repaired.
