I know G2's on toms, with G1's on bottom. Lemme see... EMAD on batter of bass drum, and I think the EQ3 resonant, but I'm not completely sure about resonant, and plus I think his kick is triggered. His snare has a Rock AF (close to a marching snare head). Dunno about the snare side head.

His tuning... well, he uses smaller toms (10, 12, 14... he might have a 13 i dun remember), and you don't really hear very high pitches, so I'm guessing he tunes em medium low- low. Personally, I'm not a fan of his drum sound. His snare drum and kick sound kinda weak... The snare drum is kinda lifeless. But I'm sure thats because of the Rock AF head, which is Evan's heaviest and msot focused snare head (according to their chart, even more focused than a hydraulic  ), close to a marching snare head.

Btw, a great drummer in a great band. System is my favorite band, and John Dolmayan has become one of my favorite drummers.

???

were they coated or uncoated ?

:D .

Usually, most metal and hard rock drummers use clear heads. John Dolmayan is the same. Haven't you seen their video for hypnotize :p ? they are clearly clear :D

CORRECTION: THE ANSWER IS HERE http://www.evansdrumheads.com/EVAArtistDetail.aspx?CodaID=1673&ID=1

Unfortunately, I dunno where he uses the clear heads and where he used the coated heads, but apparently he uses both.

DAMN DUDE!!! You beat me to the link!!!! :D John is a great drummer. He has a very unique style and i dont think that people give him enough credit. System is really great. They are my favorite band becuase they are so awesome. I've seen them live twice and they were AMAZING!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be nearly impossible, without being in the studio with SOAD, to know exactly what drums, heads, tunings, etc. the drummer uses throughout a particular album. Many drummers will use a different snare, and alternate tom tunings per song in the studio, and when live stick to a couple snares and one actual tuning.

I'm suggesting tunings based on what I hear. he uses smaller toms, but I've never really heard a high pitched punchy tom sounbd, so he must tune em low. Unless he uses bigger toms for recording, or doesnt use that 10" :p .

Try tuning the top head of the toms really high and while the bottom head is tuned maybe a third lower, thats how I think you will get the sound that he uses.

yep hes right about the clear g2s on top and the clear g1s on bottom.
His kick isn't triggered.

Brito juts tune by ear man...ull get it

Equipment also helps. No offence but your CB drumset aint gunna get you there
