Hey everyone, I just had a quick question about getting all of the synths to run together. I'm planning on using 2 synths, sampler, drum machine, and other assorted synth-type equipment together, and i was wondering what the best way to make sure that they are all running at the same tempo would be. In other words, how would I keep a drum beat in sync with the arpeggio from another synth or module? Thanks!

If you're using a sequencer to trigger all your modules, they will follow the host tempo (you'll need to set up the arpeggiator to follow this tempo)

The secret is midi clock.

It's a part of the midi stream, and you need to have one (and one only) unit set as the master.

Hook up a midi cord out of the master unit, whether drum machine or sequencer, to the midi in of the next unit, then on through the midi thru of the second unit to the midi in of the third and so on. Be sure you find the page inside the 'downstream' devices to set the clock on 'ext' or 'slave' or words to that effect --- the verbage varies between manufacturer but they all have a 'global', 'midi' or 'utility' page in their software.
