SYNCing problems with Ntracks

So I am done with a project and I moved all my wavs to my computer to try out N Tracks. Now that I have them all loaded in to my N Tracks project file, I have to slide them to the right place to sync em up. Since my first beat wav started at 00:00:00.00, I could just import and leave it. But then i needed to add tracks that didn't start at absolute zero.

When I imported those, I thought I would just read the ADL file to see exactly where (minutes:seconds:frame) each file occured then just slide each file over to their respective times and they'd be synced. Well the first timestamp on an entry line isn't close to where the file occurs, the second one seemed close but when i used it, it didn't sync up the tracks, and the third timestamp on the entry line was just way off. Which one do I use? how do i calculate from this values where i should actually move the files?

We're still trying to work out the ADL file, and it also stores old takes, so it's hard to tell from that. I've found the best method is to trim any extra silence off the start of your wav, and manually slide it until it sounds good in n-Track. It's pretty easy - not nearly as nasty as it sounds.

You're right, it does sound nasty. But i guess i will have to deal with it til we figuire it out. thanks for the reply.

Another Ntracks question

Hi, guys. I'm new here (obviously). I've been reading all the stuff about the mr8 you guys have been posting, and it's been really helpful. I think I'm going to spring for one. But I have a question - over in the Ntracks string someone said Ntracks doesn't have a built-in WAV editor. I'm not real clear on what that means, but if I were using an mr8 and doing my mixing/editing in Ntracks, would I need a WAV editor for any reason?

Thanks for all the helpful clarifications on the mr8 vs. Boss vs. Zoom vs. everything else stuff. I was about to make a most egregious Zoom mistake.

That song, and mr8 question...

Thanks, man. Pretty proud of that little ditty. Yeah, it was recorded at Airborne Audio in Kansas City (full studio with a production credits list right out of Rolling Stone).

Does anyone know - if I'm using an mr8 and syncing to Ntracks, would I need a separate wave editor?

Never mind!

Oops... You can tell i'm a newbie. I found the answer to that question in the N-Tracks forum. Amazing that when you look in the right forum the info is there, huh? Kinda like losing your keyboard and then strangely finding it in its case... But I've never done that.
