Hey guys,
I have a VS-1680 and I want to sync it up to my computer to use cakewalk to edit. Any ideas on what kind of sync I should get??
I'm new to the world of PC recording.

You don't need a "sync." You just need a MIDI connection (I guess you could call that a "sync").

Just connect the respective ends of the MIDI cables to your PC MIDI in/outs and your 1680 MIDI in/outs. Then make the appropriate settings in the sync menus, such as which is the master and which is the slave and whether you're using MTC or MIDIClock.

IMHO, I prefer using Cubase for sync'ing because I can then use the controls on my VS to control the song position pointer in Cubase. You cannot do this with Cakewalk.

Thanks Matt, I really appreciate it. I am totally clueless when it comes to this computer stuff.
