Sync Questions w/ MOTU 828 mkII and M-Audio 8x8

I am looking to add a second MOTU 828 MKII to my setup. I am also looking to add a word clock to my setup.

I was looking at the Lucid GENx-96 to sync the two MOTU 828's together. I have heard a lot of good things about those, but I wanted to get some real world opinions on them.

Also, since the M-Audio 8x8 can generate SMPTE, should I be using that in my studio for MIDI syncing? Should I use the 8x8 or one of the MOTU 828's as the SMPTE master?

I've never setup syncing in the studio before, so I was wanting some "heads-up". I use Cubase SX 3 as my software i record on.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have the Motu 2408 Mrk II, and the MOTU MTP AV. I've always used the ADAT sync between these two units, my PC, and Mackie SDR harddisk recorder. Never had any sync issues (Sample accurate), and when I've used MTP-AV as word clock master everything else has locked tight to it... but I've never seen any comments specific to the clocking quality of the MOTU gear...
