Hi guys... Did any of you have or heard about this unit?

I tried to search the forums and found quite talk about the 528, but not about the 628..

What do you think? Is the a/d usuable at least? how about the fxs?

Thanks!

I don't think the 628 has been in production for - I don't even know. It's been some time. If not ten years, close.

Probably not the most remarkable converter for sure...

The 528 (E?) is a broadcast standard that finds its way into recording rigs here and there - Usually as a quick hookup for "rough cuts" while tracking. Built in comp, EQ, de-esser, expander, etc.

Would hope that it's pretty obvious that you wouldn't want to track through such processing...

A local store is selling one 628 brand new for 260 bucks...

Not sure if there´s better option for that kind of money... A quick google search revealed that the unit used to sell for about 1k!

What do you think?

I think they're selling a $1k unit - brand new - for $260.

That by itself would make me wary.

Unless you're just looking for a quick setup for scratch tracks, I'd get something a little more substantial.
