Anyone have one of these Japanese Martin knock offs. I bought it used in a pawn shop around eight years ago as a present for my wife's sister for $125.00. I felt like I was getting ripped off as I handed the guy my check. It must've been a pretty bad guitar because my wife's sister gave it back to me a few weeks later and went out and bought a new Yamaha acoustic. She told me it "had a bad vibe". It's been sitting in a corner in my living room gathering dust ever since. I looked at it about two years ago and the bridge is about to pop off. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to spend some money to have it set up with a new nut and bone and the bridge refastened, or keep it around "as is" for a decoration or a smash-up?

Did I post this same thread a couple of months ago? I feel like I'm having deja-vu.

Most likely, the bridge is coming off because the guitar has been badly dehydrated. Sad to say, I doubt the guitar is worth the price of a set of strings.
Sounds like kindling to me.-Richie

I have a Suzuki M P-Bass copy. Got it for $10, but the electronics were ripped out. It's currently in pieces, awaiting a refinish and new hardware/electronics. It's my "experiment" bass. Probably not worth anything, but who knows.

don't smash it, you may one day get a cool sound out of it.
don't put another dollar into it though.
my ibanez el/acoustic has lasted through flights across the room, and never goes out of tune. may not sound the best, but it has lasted years.
