Sustain Problem

Today I got my Studio Logic SL880 Pro, and a little pedal for the sustain. I hooked it up to logic and it works fine. There is only one problem:

When I press the pedal the sustain stops and when I release the pedal the sustain goes on full speed.

This should be the other way around, just like on a piano.
Any Clue? :)

Sounds like the polarity of the pedal is reversed. See if there's a switch on it somewhere.

They are new pedals, just like the studiologic. There is no switch on there. Can't it be a simple trick in Logic?

I don't use Logic but on keyboards there is usually a setting to choose between footswitches that are always on or always off. I bet there's something of that nature in Logic

Ah I got it:
You have to power down the keyboard, then plug the sustain pedal in, and power it up again. That whay the keyboard can detect the polarity :)

Ah! I guess gone are the good old days when you could manually set the polarity on the pedal.

I still have an old fostex footswitch that has a polarity switch.
