O.K., on a very sudden and instant temptation, I decided to record a version of this classic Brian Wilson/Van Dyke Parks song. It was originally from the "SMiLE" sessions, and it is the demo from those sessions from 1966 (featured in the "Good Vibrations" box set) that I'm covering, as I prefer this version to the eventually released 1971 version.

This is me on piano (well, the one on Logic), and vocals. Being very inexperienced at the whole production process, this was the best I felt I could do, though I feel it could be a lot better and so any feedback regarding the song and how it could be better would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and enjoy!

The link doesn't work. Too bad too. I love that song. I wish somebody would do wonderful.

Great cover. One of my favorite BB songs. The only gripes I have is brother john is not longer with piano chords like the original, and the end didn't feature the father of the man lyrics. Other than that it was great. Your vocals are very nice, and the effect on them is very cool.

Thank you very much, propman! Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. If you listen to disc 2 of the "Good Vibrations" box set, you'll find this demo version and that was the one I was attempting to cover. However, after I finished doing this, I do have the thought to turn this into a more complete version that features what you mentioned and I would be curious to see what comes of it. I'm actually very tempted.

I think I'll actually attempt "Wonderful" next. I'm not sure, but I'm definitely interested in doing "SMiLE" right now.

Thanks, again!

This is awesome. Really good, tasteful job and very natural. You have a perfect voice for this, very pure and good pitch. I'm just listening on laptop speakers and the voice recording is very good. The only thing that bothers me is the way "domino" jumps way out. You might be able to pull that back in the mix or maybe re-sing it so it isn't so loud.

Really good job though, I love that song.
