Just wondered if anyone else has been as impressed with these mics as I have, so far I own a Superlux DRK-B5c2 drum mic set (7 mics @ £209, review here) and a PRA-118l Shotgun mic which I had to return as it was slightly faulty but I was glad that they replaced quickly with a brand new version which sounds great!
I downloaded their entire catalogue and was amazed by their huge range of products including PA speakers, Studio monitor speakers and Headphones and lots of little problem solvers like Phantom power supplies etc...
If anyone is looking for the cheapest possible way of providing an acceptable sound these guys are where to look.. They used to manufacture for Sony, Sharpe and others...
Sound on Sound review. I have been buying and returning lots of very cheap mics recently because they were shit but the Superlux range gave me just what I needed for the price I needed... Currently looking to buy a multi pattern tube mic the CMH8G I reckon it will be dope...
Just a heads up...

I think for the price they are pretty OK mics...Id have them over some MXL...Behringer, or Nady mics...and they are dirt cheap...about $50 a pop.

They are not professional mics by any means though...but amoung the better cheap chinese ones.

I live about 3/4 miles from where they do final assembly in Lenexa KS. I think they do that just to say they are made in the USA...and every Mom and Pop music store has them.

DUDE you got connections man

Yeah they are of the semi pro category but I thought their more expensive large condensers were pretty damn close to the super pro mics (Neumenn, AKG...etc) judging from some reviews.. But they are only review mind..
So darrin? You live near where they build the Superlux mics (no mention of them built in USA on my info) does that mean you can get them really cheap? And I heard you mention that you live near where they refurbish or return other cheap mics the Behringer XM8500? Is there any way you could get me one really cheap? lol . . . I was looking (as I said) at the LDC Superlux CM-H8G... How much do these sell for in you area? For me it would be about £150 ($241).. Maybe you could help me out? . . .

I have a few of the CMH8A's. I played with them a bit, thought they might be ok and put them away. One day I was experimenting with some auxiliary percussion tracks and just needed a quick set up mic to try out the parts. After I did a few I decided I liked the sound quality so much I decided to keep them as the finished tracks.

Haven't tried them on vocals yet, but for instruments I haven't found them to have any flaw really.

Kinda reminds you of the KSM27 design doesnt it?
Thats the model I had...it did have a nice sound to it...cept the thing that rattled inside...Saw one for $30 at a pawn shop a month ago...I should have picked it up...the stand...boom...windscreen and cord alone would have been worth it...and I could have sold the mic here.

BTW...I have a Nady 900 Ill never use...but I was thinking of doing a shootout and uploading it...just to point out how shitty it sounds.

I still use my superlux drum mics from time to time, they're pretty versatile and they come with a frequency response chart which is handy.

I have a CMH8A too somewhere but it doesn't get much use, I seem to remember it being dead cheap tho so yeah, if you're on a tight budget I second this recommendation

The capsule mounts inside those things are notoriously weak. One side would often break (I bought a couple really cheap and that was the case). I don't even think they were designed for shock.

Suprizingly good for instruments. I'm hesitant to try it on vocals, and I have so many better mics for that why even bother?
