I have a CM-H8D tube LD (actually a T.Bone ST-1000, which is the same mic sold by a lage German retailer), and it's my main vocal mic for my own voice. I have a faily low, not too bright voice and the added treble is very helpful for me as is the unusually wide cardiod pattern because I like to be able to move a bit. I usually prefer it over my SP B1 on vocals. Although the B1 sounds more accurate to me, the T.Bone/Superlux is more flattering. Also I've noticed that the CM-H8D appears louder at the same physical level, but that's probably due to the slight compression of the tube. You do hear the tube. It also sounds good on acoustic , but it sucks at electric guitar and I wouldn't recomend tracking bright tenor voices with it. It does have a slightly "chinese" treble range. Using a pop shield, however helps to tame its nastiness. Not an alrounder but a great mic for certain (mellow) voices.
