How much is a 100% original vintage fender blackface super reverb amp worth?

The amp is equiped with 4 10" speakers. The tolex has no tears and the only cosmetic flaw is the chrome strips on top of the amp have some rust. It has been gone through by an amp guy who is very good and reputable...but he wants to buy it...so his appraisal might be on the low side.

$1500 seems to be the average selling price on eBay. Lot of higher prices asked but no takers.

I'd have a hard time parting with my SR. If it's as clean as you say $1500 would be a steal.

A friend of mine has it. He got it for practically nothing and wants to sell it. He doesn't need the money so I'm kind of surprised he wants to flip it. He says it is too heavy. I told him i would try to help him come up with an aprox value.
Seems like tuey are selling on ebay for 1100.00.to 1700.00. I figure $2000.00 would be a good asking price

The amp repair guy I hooked him up with works out of a small music store...the owner of that store has alot of connections to seekers of vintage gear. He gets top dollar for the gear and takes 20% off the top:rolleyes: for himself. It's worth it IMO as long as he knows the minimum you will accept for your part of the selling price.
The dude.does well hooking up buyers and sellers. Buyers lnow they are going to get authentic vintage gear at a fair price amd the sellers leave the stuff woth him and get a call when it sells. He almost talked me into selling my 66 strat. I guess he talked my friend into selling the blackface sr.

I told my friend "the dudes not gonna screw you on the price...the more he gets for it the more he makes"
I guess he wants some collective agreement on a fair price.

Fuck 20% off the top.

Selling a SR shouldn't be that difficult.

I kind of agree...but this is rural mississippi. Not exactly the best place to sell gear for top dollar. This is the best place to buy gear for little or nothing....he paid 10 bucks for the amp that didn't work. It cost him $375 to fix it. My freind doesn'do the internet so an ebay sale would end up bring my baby....so IMO 20% off the top of a $2000 sale is fair.
Especially considering his giant profit margin

This ^^^. If it really is that good and clean and original, you should be able to get some better money for it and forget the bargain hunter. Convincing your highest bidder of the clean original, state is the real challenge.
