help! I am an idiot and I got super glue on my acoustic guitar. It has a gloss finish. Anyone know a safe way to remove it? Thanks. -Perry

acetate(nail polish remover) will dissolve super glue, but I'm not sure about the finish on your guitar. Maybe test it in an unconspicous spot first.

Anyone know the effect acetate would have on the finish???

Depends on the finish. It may have not penetrated and can peeled off with your fingernail if you're lucky. If you use acetate use a Q tip and go slow and easy.

If it's cyanoacrylite (and it is), then try going to your local gaming or hobby shop and pick up a bottle of "un-cure". If they sell stuff for miniatures gaming, then they'll know what you're talking about. Put a little on a paper towel, wipe it off, lather, rinse, repeat.

It's likely that the glue has reacted with the finish. Even if you get the glue off, the finish will be burned. To get it back to the original condition, I think you're going to need to take it to a pro for a finish repair.
