Yes. I was going t say the same thing. I think he nailed it on the first mix, and then the other mixes, too.

Like Kindafishy, I was half-way through typing about the first mix, and then realized there's a second mix. So, I was half way through typing about the second mix, and then I realized there's a third mix.

I really like this tune. You have a perfect voice for this kind of song. The levels are pretty good now.

The two things that I noticed are:

1) The drum levels seem to have gotten lower with each mix, to the point that the snare seems to have almost disappeared in parts of Mix #3. They also have a plasticy quality to them that usually happens with too much compression.

B) The snare seems to be out of phase or something. It has that flangy, thinned out sound that I've had happen to me often if my snare is out of phase with my overheads.

Other than that, very nice.

Thanks, I will take another look at those drums. I do have a compressor on it, but it has a light compression (or at least I thought). If I touch this again, I will remove some compression on the drums and bring them up a bit.

Thanks for the inputs.

I skipped mix #2.

#3 is an improvement. The vocal is now featured and the synths are supporting it.

I'm hearing a much better low end now. Sounds to me like the bass is pretty heavily compressed. No dynamics to it. If my suspicion is right, then I might lengthen the attack. Might help it "pulse" a little better.

I'm still not digging the drums. The cymbals and hats are louder than the snare. I'd take a couple of dbs off the cymbals and add a couple of dbs to the snare.

Tried to do a couple of tweaks based on the last comments. Get the bass to have more dynamics and adjust snare. Unless there is something I really screwed up (since these were subtle tweaks, I don't think so), this is the final version.

Thank you all for helping me improve this mix. It is much appreciated.

I'm liking this more now.

I'm getting to really small stuff now....

I think the kick is a bit too loud.

There is a little clean-ish guitar line that first appears at about :39. It gets covered by the vocal. I would probably move it a little further to the left. Make a cut in it at about 5K. Then boost it 2-3 dbs. I don't know if that will help it sit better or not. But it's something I'd at least try.

As I said, this is really small stuff at this point.

Yes, the kick was loud, loud enough to fix it. Made the tweak on the guitar. I did nto change the link so others will not hear it.

Going with the comments, I started second guessing myself, so your comment was very welcomed. Thanks.

Nits addressed. Sounds good to me. We'll see what other say.

I came back in for another listen and played the latest mix. I don't think there's anything on yer final version that I couldn't live with - I really like this tune/arrangement dm.

Thanks, I think the kick is still a little loud, but nothing so serious that it has to be changed.

I appreciate the feedback.
