Here's a tune we almost have wrapped up. Comments appreciated.

wonderful tune! very creative and groovy! I love it!

-- to the mix: the bass is too lood and muddy; guitars are always centered and mono-like in the mix - just play a little with panning and delay/reverb..
brass sounds comes in too loud and it's too midish, though it's played well -- that's all to the mix.. but.. again..

very cool tune, oustanding perfomance!

...to the mix

Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. I agree on the panning of the guitar. I'm always a bit confused on where to put them in the mix. I'll play around and see what works.

The Bass is a fretless sample and it does sound muddy. I have Larry Seyer's bass samples, and when I get my Gigastudio machine running again, I may swap out the patch.

I love arranging horns, but I can't play them. I'd love to hear a rendition of this with real horns someday. That would be very cool. I'll try to pull them back a bit and see what happens.

Thanks for the feedback.

Man that's relaxing!

Like it a lot. I would like to hear the rythm guitar spread a bit wider. That will give you room for the solo guitar in the middle when it comes in. The same goes for the organ. Leave the middle for your nice guitar work. Everything else should surround it and support it. I would have prefered a different bass sound.

rhythm guitar

That guitar part was actually played on my Yamaha S80. It has a real nice Jazz Tremolo patch that I like a lot.

Thanks for listening and posting comments.

groovejunkie and the guys hit on it already. spread it some more. The perc's could appear in some further places off center as well. That snare needs a little more meat on it. The gutiar could stand coming up a little more in the mix. The perc's sound ok but they got a better sparkle around 1:17 when you opened the top end up for the next section, then they lost some of the sparkle when you went back to the resolve at the end. The bass is muddy, maybe you could salvage it with eq and roll it off below 100. Very relaxing arrangement.

In addition to the other suggestions I would consider taking a little 170Hz from the drum. Maybe -3 dB. Cool vibe to this.

song is renamed

We have decided to call this song El Rayo de Luna. We will be putting many of your suggestions to use. I appreciate the help.

If you're interested, here's our next project in the works. Lead guitar will be sparingly used in this one.

Everyone's covered the details already.....nice song but the equalization needs changing. I got it to sound pretty good by totally changing my EQ.....but, of course, it should more or less sound balanced without my having to do that.......really needs more highs all the way around.

Some good creative stuff. Great musicianship. Some great rippin gtr playing. Most bases have been covered as far as mix goes. This definantly deserves it.
Good work
