With my ears being so green I'm not sure what I need to be fixing here. I don't like really polished, clean sounding mixes. I love the raw feel of albums like For Emma, forever ago and Tom Waits' albums. (I know I am no Bon Iver or Waits.) I think the guitars are where I want them but the vocals sound too out of place, I think. I have no idea what to do with them. Thank you in advance.

The guitar sounds good. Maybe just a little too much percussive strummy sounds in there, but that's probably just my taste.

I like the warmth of the vocal, but it does sound a little muffled and small compared with the guitar, you know? I just think the lead vocal track needs more clarity and/or top end and/or volume (or the guitar needs a little less of it?), and then maybe you'd have a better fit? Good job though.

Love the feeling in the guitar- I can tell you're feeling melancholy even before you say a word.

I think the guitar is taking up a lot of space in the mix, both high and low ends. It sounds really, really good. But the problem with that is that then the vocals sound a little thin. If you removed some of the bass from the guitar track it would sound a little worse. But then you could emphasize a little bass in the vocals and they would sound a little better and be more of a focus. Up to you.

JJ.
