Hi, I'm new here so hello to everyone. Here's a little song I've been working on, amateurish and cheaply produced, but I have a family to support. Anyway, I was hoping to get some input on what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm doing anything right. thanks

Sounds good man-sounds like you spent alot of time on this.

The drums are well arranged but don't sound nearly real. Like I can't pick out the snare hardly at all after a few seconds into the mix. A real drummer would not let that fly if he was there mixing with you : )

Is there a bass guitar or is it keys covering the bottom? Cause I can't distinguish.

This needs a little eq tweaking I think-to seperate the elements from each other. Maybe its this soundclick site-but I can't download. Anyway this is very listenable but I think has potential to sound nicer with a little more work.

Thanks for the input. I tweaked it a little and the new version can be found at the same link

Hey, that was a fun listen...tons of energy and there are plenty of little twists and turns rhythmically and otherwise that keep this moving right along despite being an instrumental that is somewhat simple on the surface.

From a production standpoint, it does seem a bittle cluttered to me. Could the guitars be spread out a little more to make some space for the other stuff? I liked how you cycled through different drum sounds and variations on the beat and was thinking these drums weren't intended to sound real necessarily? Maybe you could go further in that direction and apply some (or more if you already have) whacky effects to them? I dunno - just thinking as I listen.

I thought the cymbals were way too loud and the guitar tone at the end has this odd sort of digital sounding sizzle to it that gave it a quirky cool sound while being a bit grating at the same time. Yeah, I guess it does sound a bit cheap, but not in a shitty, "man, that is so cheap" kind of way...more like it was recorded at home...endearing I guess. Interesting and fun :).
