Athlon XP is the AMD. It runs hotter than the P4 but is cheaper than a 2GHz P4.

ECS Mainboard. Budget RAID capable mainboard. You could buy a mainboard that has RAID built in your you can buy a RAID card. It's just extra hard drive connections. RAID 0 is taking say, (2) 30 GB hard drives and running then as (1)60 GB hard drive that's much faster. Inexpensive way to get more hard disk speed. It would be drive D: and where you save/work your music data. The bootable drive is where you install windows and all your software. Idealy I'd get one that's 20 GB bigger than the RAID array is gonna be so you can use it as a backup device for you music data. This is a 3 hard disk setup but you only see 2 drive letters in windows. C:your bootable/softeware drive and D: your data drive (raid array)

512 PC2700. 512 MB DDR memory that can run at 166 MHz. I'm running 133 MHz or PC2100 speed. Got faster memory just to be safe. Costs a tiny bit more.

Built in audio. Allows you to play games ect since the digi card is realy only for the digi hardware.

Case with 350 PS. want to get a high quality power supply to save headaches. Just becasue a PS has a high power rating doesn't mean it is quality though. The power supply that comes in the Enermax I bought was decent had higher ratings on the rails than the 400 Watt PS I usually buy. Dunno if plexiglas panel is windex friendly. Just use damp paper towel just like you'd use on a monitor?

Glow fans. Yep looks bitchn. Kinda Sci-Fi or something...

Monitors. Haven't research monitors for ever. I have Spirit Absolute 2s and a Samson Servo 240 amp that are 5 years old. Everyone hates em here but I think they're fine. Probably means I'm clueless about monitors. I did dig those powered Mackies though.

Analog mixer. The Digi 001 breakout box has 2 mic inputs and 8 line in 8 line outs as well as optical and midi I/O. Anything you're gonna need for one man band stuff for sure. Still it probably best to hook it all to a mixer so you'd want to get a decent cheapie mixer to hook it up to. Here's the info on the digi 001:

I dunno. I thought the whole thing went together really good so I figured that if you did something similar you have a similar result.
