Whats up everyone? The reason im writing this thread is because im having a little trouble deciding what MIDI/Audio interface would be best for my use right now. Im a producer in the making and im looking to expand my "home studio". The type of music i create is pretty much hip-hop and i really want to expand my resources by building up my studio. Also i want to start recording my own audio as well. So far all ive been working with is a Roland Fantom X6 keyboard and Fruity Loops 7.
Its been a little annoying having to decide with one i want to use to create music without being able to use them at the same time. The only connection ive been able to create between the two is a USB cord to control FL with the keyboard. I think its time to upgrade a little bit and get a MIDI interface. Now that im out of school and have some money to spend i have a little bit of a budget to work with. Im trying to stay around the $1000 mark or under and pretty simple also.
I have a plan of what i kind of want but i just need a little confidence in knowing that im getting the right stuff before i go spending money on non-practical gear. Heres a list of what ive been looking at and the order i plan to purchase them within the next month:
So i guess what i really want to know is if the system i have plus the stuff on the list will make a sound and practical home studio. I really want some advice on the MIDI interface and any suggestions as to any other interface that may work better with what im trying to accomplish. Maybe 5x5, 8x8? Any advice ill gladly take and hope that ive provided enough info for suggestions. Also, whatever suggestions anyone might have that will make my system the most efficent but still be able to accompany my needs will be appreciated too.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and thank you.
