Why do you want to upgrade? What pieces of equipment do you think are lacking? You need to figure out what pieces (If any) aren't good enough, and then look into it. No need to upgrade for the hell of it now is there.

How about a lava lamp, I didn't see one of those on that list.

yea i know, i definately am veyr happy with what i have right now, it's just i want everything to get a professional as can be, you know? good low end, just clear, and sounds good.

I guess my biggest flaw is guitar but i just bought that sennheiser mic now so i want to see how that sounds, and other than that, i guess my kick mic which i would like to upgrade.

i have so many idea's id love to do with ym studio, but im on a low budget as everyone, ha. I'm just tyring to get the best for the money and best thing to make it as professional as can be.

What i'd suggest you do is carry on with what you've got. Save the money you currently have and keep it until your in the studio and actually think to yourself 'I wish i had a better .....' (No silly comments on that one lads!)

If your wanting a better kick mic, i'd recommend the D112. Really nice mic, and you'll have a hard job of finding something better for that amount of cash.

Dont think you have to be professional just to have professional kit - Get practicing and record with what you've got. It's not the gear that does everything at the end of the day, tis you mi lad

Keep your money saved up, get a kick mic if you really feel the need to, but otherwise, keep recording for the time being and then see how you go :D

Good luck!

thanks, that is what im going to do, i was thinking of buying the d112 too but the only one i used so far was the beta52a and it worked amazingly well. but i bet the d112 is better for double bass though.

thanks again :]

Beta 52 is great for me, but D112 is great to, from what i have have seen in person (not much) and what i have heard (lots).

You have a ton of gear already, how good are you with it? I see lots of entry level stuff that could stand to be upgraded, but once you get away from entry level gear you start getting into the world where it is all about opinion, and what other people might suggest will be what works for them, your next choices will be best if they are suited to what you are recording and where you want to go. You can answer that best and spending as much time as possible getting to know the gear your do have (and limitations therein) is probably the best way.

Before investing in more gear, i would look at your room and the sources.
The vocal booth is a great sign you are focused on that. If you don't have a agreat sounding space, that might be your most often used space.

Do you record full bands, tracking everyhting at once? What is the quality of the soruce instruments? i can't imagine you coming up missing on a piece of gear very often, but i could imaing the room or the source being a limiting factor.

If you can hear beautiful music in the room, but the recordings are not that great, you might then want to look at new mics or something.

But I would say that if you don't have enough experience yet to know pretty well just what is lacking, don't go shopping yet.

It's been said many times around here - the best improvements can be made by focusing your attention on:

The Room
The Mic Pres
The Soundcard

- So find an acoustician to enhance your recording room(s) with bass traps/taming reflections and flutter echos, etc.
- Start upgrading your mic preamps (lots of products so do lots of research)
- Get a Black Lion mod for your Delta 1010

Many if not all those mics you listed are great tools and will sound MUCH different with other pre's!

Good luck, Rez
