Suggestion for the challenge......

Instead of everyone starting a new thread for their challenge piece, could our "moderator" start the initial thread on march 5th, and everyone participating could just respond to that thread. That way, we could subscribe to the thread, and all the entries would be in one place, rather than having to scroll and search for new entries.

Sorry, if someone else already mentioned this. I just thought for once I may have actually had an original idea!:D

I think it will make it easier on everyone.. even the people who don't participate in the challenge, but still need some feedback on a tune..

it would be nice to have one continuously flowing monsterous/humorous thread..

I like the idea too, but I would also add something to the subject lines in the responses to the effect of... "RE: B. Sabbath's's cover of Sluice's Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I found in my Armpit one Midsummer Morning."

...for quick referrence...

It's a good idea... THAT way, other peeps' stuff not related to the challenge wouldn't get bumped off PG 1 so quickly.

The thread should be made "STICKY" if at all possible... tho I'm not sure Dragon would be posting here, anytime soon. Maybe we could convince him to make the challenge thread sticky? (sticky = stays at the top of the forum... no bump necessary)

One concern: some peeps' stuff would get skipped, I'm afraid. We'd need someone to gather all the links together every once in a while into one post, so that everyone gets a listen. That thread could have 20 pages to it before long.

also, I doubt a moderator will start a thread, so I think someone like crawdad or Lt. Bob could start 'the mother thread.'

Or everyone could just post under the very first post. But wasn't someone nominated to be the "Boss" of this thread already....Mixmaker? Muzeman? Somebody with an M. Maybe Triple M.... I don't remember..........

i like the idea, but wouldn't it then be a problem to find comments on your stuff cuz there will be 5000 reviews on 5000 songs?? and hard to find a particular artist's link, too....It's gonna be a 100 pages long thread.


BTW, what's the challenge this time??:confused:

You're right A1A2. I thought of that too. The replies to a posted song could be 2 pages away from the original post. The only way you could follow it would be to read every post from day 1. Unless there would be a way to have subthreads within the Mother thread. Oh well, maybe that won't work afterall. Or maybe someone else will come up with a solution. There's a lot of smart people out there!

I'll add a "nay" vote for the single thread. Voxvendor's started out that way, and it just got confusing for people with a short attention spans (like me).

Besides, we're talking about a pretty short submittal period. After the chaos ends in the clinic, I'll be checking out pages 3 and 4 for tunes that got lost in the shuffle.

But I'll conform to the majority's will...

d00ds, I got a big mouth!! I just tried to figure out some stuff, 'Miracles' and 'Hate Pill'.. it didn't work out.. It would take what's left of my musical life just to hack them..

RE: the mother thread.. I have no idea what to do.. maybe a few threads by some people in an alphabetical order type breakdown.. something like crawdad starts the A-G thread.. Guernica starts the G-P thread, SLuice the Q-Z thread... something like that.. It would be easy to find the A1A2 song because it would be in crawdads thread.. the mixmkr song would be in the Guernica thread.. the B.Sabbath tune would be in the crawdad thread.. etc..

there would be multiple mother threads,but not tooo big.. just hefty enough..

make any sense? anyone?

.........or how about this; Someone creates the Mother thread. When your song is ready, you start a new thread that people can respond to. Then you go to the Mother Thread and post the link to your song and a link to your response thread.

Now all the song links are in one place. And from the Mother thread, I can link directly to your response thread to tell you to BRING UP THE FREAKIN VOCAL!!!! or whatever.

If this is all too complicated, that's OK with me. The old way will work too. I'm just a neatfreak. Everything has to be organized or I flip out. I think I get it from my Mom. I'm gonna lie down now for a little quiet time. Then I'll be alright.
