i have heard from various producers that when submitting a demo you should have almost something like a resume of your music career in order to show your experience and all. My question is, whether trying to get signed to a big label or just a small indie label, what package should you put together when giving the company your music.

Unsolicited demos usually hit the trash can. :( If you have permission to send a demo, you send a standard press kit ( photo, any reviews, promo materials etc). Doesnt have to be a big deal.

Usually, a label wants an artist with a proven track record of some sort. That might be steady gigs, a few coffee house shows, whatever. They are going to want YOU to sell CDs at gigs, through YOUR fan base etc.
