Subjective Q? RenEQ/Comp vs Regular Waves EQ/Comp?

Hi,
I was just curious what those of you who have access to both the Waves RenEQ and Comp and Regular EQ and Comp use most? I find myself always using the rennaisance stuff, but in going through the waves tutorial cd set (the 7 cd one) it seems like its almost all the standard stuff. I know this is partially a subjective question and that the standard stuff is more for clinical applications but is there a good reason not to edge towards the rennaisance plugs?

Thanks,
Casey

There's certainly no reason to avoid Renaissance Eq... if that's what you mean.

In general, Ren Eq is more 'analogy' sounding with character, and the other ones are a bit more surgical and precise.

I guess i kind of meant to ask the opposite, If you have the RenEq/Comp do you find yourselvs using the Q10 and C1 very often? If so, what are the particular applications that you feel require them over the Ressaisance ones?

i tend to use the C1 and Q4 on stuff like drums. I like to compress my drums a lot and something about the rcomp doesn't do it for me. I use the rcomp, renvox, and renEQ's on vocals and acoustic guitars.

I guess i could use renEQ on drums, but I've always just been used to using the regular eq.

Personally you are better off with the UA plugs--Pultec and Cambridge. :) :)
