A tune, not done with it yet. Bit distorted in certain areas, my fault. Thinking of putting piano in the middle quiet part, and the next part. Anyway. Enjoy, it's a very positive, uplifting, feel-good tune, like all mine are. Special thanks to Pete, who took the time to come out and play some drums.

Can be found here:

then,

then,

under 'disco' then, 'works in progress'

Then.

An Oversight.

Thanks, for checking it out.

Homerecording.com blew up while I was posting. I'll try and re-upload it, same place, same time.

well...I looked and looked....then came back to see if others could find it...then read your 2nd post.

we'll be back ...cya then:)

Well what's the name of the song?

Or should I say, "Who's on First?"

man,

thats a good example of fine production.
It justs sounds musically polished.

I think the vocal could be a tad louder.

funk on!

Very nice, Emeric. I ESPECIALLY like the layering of the instruments as they are introduced into the song...and the limited, but tasteful use of the elec gtr when it comes in. It makes the elec gtr sound all that more relevant. The acoustic gtrs are nice sounding too...and dbl'd up very well. I like the bass pedal tone that happens when it first comes in....lays down the beat. The Looooong break at 2:00 is just great...nice and long, what a good use of space...with the instruments just barely audible as they fade away....and your drummer doesn't go spastic...just a nice touch on the cymbals.Nice sound on the drums too, btw.
My complaints are with the vocals, and think some [more obvious] tasteful uses of reverb tails/delays/echos will help to enhance your performance. I can hear a little lip smacking in the quieter areas. (around 2:58)..and that's ok, I guess. I think if you sang with a little more *confidence* in this section, it would help too. The riff, starting around 4:00, and taken to the end seems empty, and possibly might benefit from even a NEW sound, as a solo instrument to fade things out. Quirky little riff on the ac. gtrs hitting the minor third on the fadeout is a tad weird too.
Overall, very nice tune, production, and [as you say] a *start* on what you've got going. I think the pno...with limited use will be very nice, should you add it.

Thanks for the listen Cyan. I thought maybe the vocals were too loud, but I'm not very objective when their my own. Their 2 seperate tracks, so the levels might be off in parts.

Mixmkr: Agree with you 100% about the vocals. They could definetely use some effecting of sorts. I'll probably add backups in areas as well. I hadn't edited the vocal track so any extraneous noises can be removed easily enough. Right about the ending riff to. Maybe some keys or a lead guitar or something. Thanks for the feedback.

B.Sabbath, thanks for checking it out!

What can I say but Wow! The drums sound really nice. Acoustic guitar, VERY nice. As stated, the vocal is a bit dry but that's a matter of taste. I'll be keeping an eye open for this one when it's done. Very, very nice.

i've never had this problem before with NWR but i click on the play hifi, and it does like a split second playing of nothing in winamp then it says its done. so i can't listen.

I've been making changes to the playback procedure to make things more compatible, make sure you have m3u files associated with WinAmp, and be sure that the mime-types are configured properly on your windows.

Also, let me know what browser and version, operating system, etc.

Good sounding tune Emeric. Nice changes.

The vocals were sort of up & down in places. Maybe they could benefit from a boost or some compression. Also, the drums didn't seem to occupy as much space as they normally do in your recordings.

Good work you crazy Canadian you! :)

tastey

For me thats one of the best I`ve heard (to my tastes) on the forum. Ofcourse, I am new.

Brilliant acoustic and the drums with the bass are perfect. I like the style of the singing, if it isn`t a style pump it up abit, ha. It gets really involved in the middle and I like the end. Tip top.

I`m jealous

Track Rat, thanks for the listen. I'll get around to finishing it someday.

Thanks Slack. Yeah the vocals are a bit inconsistent. Two tracks and I didn't spend enough time balancing them.

Erland, glad you like the tune. Vocals are usually the most aggravating and difficult part for me. Thanks for checking it out.

they are associated, win2k, IE5. also doesn't work on Mandrake 8.1, mozilla 0.9.5.

How about your mime-types, audio/mpegurl set up properly?

I just figured out a little something, some browsers force M3U in binary mode for transfer, thus screwing up the LF/CR of the M3U file wich is entirely text. Others do it in ASCII. Alot of players ignore, or take a LF as a LF/CR, but no all do.

Sooo... I've forced the server to send binary with full LF/CR's...

Give it a shot now, lemme know if it works for you.

Very nice work. I like the guitar sound - how did you mic 'em & what did you use?
I disagree about 'verb on the vox - I like 'em as they are. Maybe a slight studio verb patch if you haven't done that already.
Love the bass sound.
Drums sound good, but I really don't dig the snare sound - a matter of taste though.
I know it's a work in progress, but it already sounds damn good.
