I am in desperate need of help lol and any advice is appreciated

i use production software for sequencing/mixing

i have monitors and a sub woofer hooked up, i cannot seem to get effecient good sub bass, without having distortion in my regular monitors

can someone give me some tips/tricks on how to get bass ONLY in the sub and not distort the regular montiors

ive tried Eq, compression but everytime i get the sub bass loud and bumpin, it sounds all distorted in my regular monitors

i have the waves diamond package so if anyone is familiar with that and knows any solutions in there that can help too

thanks a lot in advance

I'm no expert but it sounds like you need a high pass filter on the regular monitors to get the rumble out of them and leave it to the sub. What brand a model are your setr up. doesn't the sub-woof have a cross-over to send the above modified signal to the two ways???

yea my set up is kinda weird

i have my monitors hooked up to my mbox which is hooked up to my computer

i couldnt figure out how to put the sub right into the mbox (its an interface by the way if u werent sure what it was)....then the sub is hooked up to a mixer...then the mixer is plugged into the headphone jack in the mbox

its kinda confusing...the only thing plugged into the mixer is the sub, and the speakers are into the interface

i cant see this being the correct set up, but thats just the way i got it to work in the begining

A basic $400 hobby interface with $3000 worth of pro software, eh? And you haven't cracked an answer to your question yet? ;)

You need to check the manual for your subwoofer, but on many models you can daisy chain through the subwoofer to your monitors, and use the sub's crossover to bandpass filter your stuff appropriately. But one way or another, you should not be hooking anything but headphones up through the headphone jack.
