What's this button do?
Does anyone have experience with these mixers? Also, I read that they are now being called "Phoenix" so did they get bought out? Thanks for the info.

I have a 16.8.16 StudioMaster and love it. I like the EQ over Mackie (and I've used their 8 buss and own two 1604VLZs and a 1202VLZ). The StudioMaster company had some sort of problem with a company in India that actually builds the mixers, hence, no more StudioMaster but the Indian company is going to start manufacturing them under some new guise.

I have a StudioMaster Diamondhead 16/2, which is probably one of their bottom-of-the-line consoles. For some reason the preamps on mine don't work very well, but that's not a big deal for me because I use a separate preamp for tracking. The console itself is sturdy and I definately have no complaints with regard to the EQ.
