Ok well I'm starting to buy equipment for Logic Studios(haha) and I'm woundering if I can use a Carvin 100' 16 channle snake for now. I only really need about 50' but I dont have a studio snake in budget right now. I have found a site where u can custom make Belden studio snakes, so I might check that out when I have enough money.

So I shouldn't worry about any lose of signal or extra noises?

Not for mics. It is better to have the run be as short as possible, but I doubt this will be the weakest link in your chain. There are other things that will make a bigger difference to you sound than chopping 50 feet off your snake.

What are some methods that could be done to wire up panels, maybe 1 16 in. or 2 8 ins.

I don't understand the question. You make (or buy) the panels and you wire them up. There is no magic. You could even take a snake and nail the box to the wall if you want.

Oh sorry, I was in a bit of a hurry writing that post. My situation is debating about putting a wall plate in front of the control room. I have 2 preformance rooms and a control room. Pre 1 is the middle room between the control room and Pre 2. So Im just woundering if installing a wall plate that leads to Pre 1 then have a studio snake to reach to Pre 2. Would that be fine.

Yes, but I would tend to put the snake in room 1 and the panels between 1 and 2. You could have a shorter snake that way.

Justa. I've been using a 16 channel livewire snake from GuitarCenter for both live and recording. I haven't had any problems. I think I paid around $150-200 after some haggling. My buddy's the assistant manager.
I checked out the wall mounts from conquest and they were reasonalble too. E-mail them and get a catalogue. I only use my recordings for pre-production (before I spend $$ in a real studio) so take my word with a grain of salt. Later Hoss
ps- one of u guys give me some feed back on my acoustics problem in the studio section before I waste time and cash.
