As you probably already know, it's not what you have, but how you use it and sometimes too much gear will distract from the music making process.

I still relish the day when I was able to produce all my tracks on the Boss DR-5, which I could load up with batteries and take anywhere with me. Now when I want to start working on a beat, I have to turn on my PC, my modules, my samplers, my MIDI switcher, my compressors, my mixers, my EQs, my FX processors. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass and inhibits creativity. Not that I'm complaining ....

Just something to think about.
