These guys are members of a rock band I record (JunkFuel). Kinda like "will work for recording". Couldn't have done it without them.

Alright DD!! Cool! I'm green.:D Say, what are you doing on the ceiling in your live room? And I'm still curious how you are treating the RC gap between the rock and stud
at the vertical door jambs. Someone suggested a styrofoam rod. I was wondering if you can run a vertical piece of RC right next to the jamb? What did you do there? Trying to get all these details down before I draw them for my "planned" studio. When I build it is another story. Next year hopefully. Anyway, keep posting your pics:cool: Say, did I see you are in Maine? Whoaaa! BRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! If you are, I know, I lived in Brunswick for a while.

Looking good Don!
I wish I were sheet-rockin'.
I got a contractor for the foundation this week, so hopefully I'll have some framing started before Christmas.

You remember that stage, don't you?

p.s. you need to clean the lens on your camera.;)

No you don't ...you wish you were slinging mud at my house.

I just hung the first door Monday and I orderd 160 sq/ft of acoustic foam.

Is it me or has HR.com gotten the building bug.

Rick,
Not sure what you're talking about but I'm running the RC right up to where the door trim starts. The small gap between sheetrock and trim will be caulked. The ceiling will be suspended ceiling (acoustic tile). That should be fun considering the wierd shape of this room.

Maine? Maine? Maine? Are you crazy :D South Ga is too cold for me in the "winter."

Opps, I did it again. Toooo many studios, too many names and locations:D Sorry DD-Georgia:eek: Boy, I get rattled sometimes. Ok, let me see it I got this correct. Your door jamb edges are flush with the face of the sheetrock, correct. The trim covers the gap between the sheet rock and the jamb. Correct. Which is not what you said. Unless your details are not standard. My question was if you are building a standard door jamb/trim/sheetrook detail. If you were, the RC dies into the vertical door jamb as does the sheetrock. The gap would exist vertically between the horizontal RC and the sheet rock/stud/jamb assembly. Anyway, you know what your doin. Maybe post a pic of that detail please.
It helps to see what people are doing. And I'm sure others can benifit, even if its in hindsight. :D
