For your budget, you should be able to find a pair that will sound like Aphrodite whispering sweet nadas in your ear. I won't tell you that I like the Yorkville passives, YSM-1. Good price and good quality for the small amount of green they cost. I'd take a hike to a vendor and bring one of your tapes or your favorite CD and listen to how it sounds on a whole bunch of monitors. Green Hornet
