I am new to computer recording and I'm looking for a set of studio monitors to use. Can anyone suggest a set that I should get (preferably under $250) that can handle a lot of bass without peaking out. Also, what is the best way to hook these to my computer. Thanks!

Alesis M1's are good monitors.

I would recommend a sub-wooofer for really deep bass sounds, but you can get good bass tones from Alesis M1 Actives.

my best suggestion is to go down to yer local store and listen to whatever monitors they have in yer price range. Take a few CDs you know REALLY well. Take some of yer own mixes too. Also listen to some monitors way above your own price range - just to compare to what you can afford - it should help you listen out for certain parts.

EDIT - oh and lock the other thread u created - seems you double-posted this one! like that you'll get all the answers in 1 tread..
