Do you guys have any recomendations for studio mic stands?

I would like a system with interchangable parts that allow for a lower boom for close stereo guitar micing with a top boom for vocals or additional guitar mics. I would like to have 2 stands set up to accomodate 2 singer/guitarists for jams and song writing demos.

I realize the best way is with multiple stands but I want them set so I can wip them out and record in the living room with minimal setup time.

I was hoping to get some cool hardware for under $200.

I know the normal ways to do this but are there any new or innovative mic stand systems?

Thanks

I just use the old chrome stands in the garage. The black ones go on the gigs. I'm in a black period; black clothes, car, equipment, guitars, etc.

On the chrome boom stand I'll attach a clip-on thingy that has a gooseneck for a second mic. Also I'll attach a small screw on music stand. Works pretty good if it doesn't fall over and takes up little space. I'm going to have to spring for tripod stands though cause the C-1's make it too top heavy.

I just picked up a Quik Lok A50 (black w/boom, very beefy) for about $125. The thing wieghs a ton and it works great. It has wheels on it as well.

Thanks, I'll check out the quick lok. Their keyboard stuff is pretty cool.

I have a cheezy goosneck/clip thing and it is almost worthless. It is just rigid enough to be really hard to move and just weak enough that it cant even hold a 57 without sagging.

I figure if I'm going to use expensive mics why risk them tipping over because of a cheap stand.
