My suggestion is to check your music retail stores to see what they have available. If they carry the sE brand, it is an sE Electronics policy to provide the 7 day trial , however, it's best to check to see if the retailer does honor the 7 day trial.
If you are going to start with an sE mic I'd suggest you spend a tad more and get the SE2200A.

I have one as do countless others. It is an awesome mic for the money and it is quite possible you may be able to find one used or on eBay. Use this link to get to the mic then spend some time checking out the reviews on the website too!

There are a lot of folks who swear by the Studio Projects B1 as a great first mic but I cant comment as I dont have one. There are a lot of folks who also like the MXL V67 microphone too. Then there is the CAD M179 that receives a lot of praise as well but costs a little bit more than the B1 and V67.
Do some searches (use the search engine) on this forum and I'm sure you'll get an "earful" of commentary on as many mics as you do searches for.
There are a lot of talented and knowledgeable people "lurking"

on this forum and the recording wisdom abounds

I have learned a lot from these many and learn more every time I log in.
