Continuing my plans for a studio, I've been re-reading some of Rod's posts and gradually seem to be understanding more about what's going on - 'oh, THAT'S what they mean!'

I will be building a floating room-within-a-room construction inside a room where I do not have access to outer sides of two of the existing walls. The remaining walls are an external wall with two windows (which can be boarded up) and an internal wall leading to a hallway. Have I completely misunderstood what everyone has been saying, or is my best bet to rip off the plasterboard from the existing walls and ceiling, fill the cavity with insulation, then build my floating room with everything inside out? I would end up with a sandwich of plasterboard bread, insulation lettuce and air filling. Do I rip out the floor as well? If I can understand this basic fundamental principle then I can go ahead and order all of the materials before I go into the detail of how it's done.

Thanks everyone!

Conan,

read my response in the other thread.

Probably better not to split things up........ less confusing to us "old timers".
