Has anyone used this mic, or heard anything about it? I need a condenser mic for no more than $200 and I heard that this is better than a akg c1000. I don't know which to choose. I want to use a condenser mic for a everything (2 overhead for drums, micing guitar and bass guitar amps, recording acoustic guitar, and vocals). I've heard about the NT1, and the AT3525. I just don't know. Also, I'll be using the onboard preamp of a tascam 424 mkIII 4-track. My voice can get a little nasaly/piercing when i start to hit high notes. I'd appreciate anyone's help. Thanks.

There is a good article on the Crown here :

Article Here !!

But, if you plan on using it for vocals . . . I wouldn't count on it. If I had $200 to spend, I'd go for the NT1.

Yeah the Rode Nt1 (made right here in Australia too) is a good choice
you wont be disapointed ,,but i wouldnt use it on everything...........

go for a Audio Technica ata33a
nice mic!!

Thanks for all your input! At my local guitar center the crown cm700's are priced at $200 (same price as akgc1000's). I'll listen to all mics in the $200 price range first, but it seems like $200 for a cm700 is a better deal than $200 for a akg c1000. Anyone agree, disagree? Thanks.

quick side note = whoa! the shure sm57 picks up my voice a million times better than the sm58. I was amazed at how much better my voice sounded through the sm57. The sm58 just doesn't pick up the total range of my voice and it sounds thin and kinda skimpy in my opinion. I'm getting an SM57!
