I am looking for the BEST strings sound for the money. I have seen the Vienna Symphonic Library's "Horizon Series Solo Strings" collection for $445.
That is a pretty high price. I mean, DAMN $445. I am sure they are worth it. (???)
Anyway, what would be involved in me getting these samples and using them?
Right now I have a PC 2.6 gHz, with an 80GB 7200 rpm HDD with 512 MB DDR-SDRAM running Logic Audio Plat. v. 5.5.1 with the EXS24mkII all through a MOTU 828mkII fireiwre interface.
Would I have to go off and get some kind of external hard drive from Glyph or what? Could I just install an off the shelf second 7200rpm internal HDD (not "optomized for audio) to house the 35 GB that this sample collection is?
Also... are these samples really worth $445? I want to use these samples for making rock music (a la` big 80's rock ballad strings) and for making film soundtracks for independent films that can afford a real orchestra.
What do you guys think?
