Strike vs. Addictive Drums

I have ProTools 7.3 with an Mbox2 into a PC.

I am looking for a realistic sample-based acoustic drums plug-in soft-instrument. I know that Digidesign has "Strike" for $299 which seems to be what I am looking for and being that it is made by Digidesign, it should incorporate seamlessly with ProTools. But XLN Audio also makes "Addictive Drums" which can be had for $249.

The only major differences between the two (other than the obvious proprietary samples) is that Strike requires around 8 GB of free space and Addictive Drums only 2 GB due to some kind of compression technology or something.

I am not a tech`ie kind of guy. My eyes glaze over after a few paragraphs on all the parameters and back end code stuff. Here's what I want.

I want to be able to plug in my midi-keyboard-controller into the Mbox2. Bring up ProTools. Set a tracks input to (Drum Plug-in X), and have the plug in come up with drums automatically mapped to separate keys on the keyboard. I also want to be able to have drum patterns (i.e. loops) of pre-set grooves for laying in. And I want to be able to easily add my own fills in between patterns, and add "extras" (i.e. hi-hat scoops, accent notes, etc.) to patterns.

Does anyone know if either or both of these programs can get the job done?

Thanks!

You haven't heard of EZ Drummer?

Yeah I have heard of it, and it seems to be mostly geared towards hardcore, metal and the like. I think the dfh stands for Drumkit From Hell. I am more looking for Drumkit From Iowa.

But it is way cheaper, which makes it attractive. I am glad you pointed it out to me again to consider. I will definitely investigate it further.
