What am I doing wrong? I really start to like my voice. Mixing down a song, it sounds great beeing played back loud but at a low level it sounds like sh*t and the vocals seem to be too loud though they sound weak...

That's a pretty big question!
That could be a number of things:
1. What are you running your mix thru? (stereo? power amp? reference monitors? etc.?)
2. EQ?
3. Problem in the effects loop?
this could go on...can you be more specific with a gear list, it may be easier to locate the problem.
