with the recent drop in housing prices I am finally looking at moving out of my rental and buying a house. Of course a major concern is the band room!! We might have found one we like but the potential room is very strange! In fact the whole house is strange! I will try to describe this room but might end up having to scan a sketch. I am looking to find out the pro's and cons, etc. I will put in wood floors if we go through with this.
The room at one point was a normal rectangle with a sloping ceiling. then, at some point, an addition was made at the low end, making the room into an "L" shape, with the small end of the L being the addition (small addition), and that end being 8' ceilings. so the small part of the L is 8' ceilings and the large part slopes down towards the addition, maybe being 12' at the highest point (maybe not).
My first inclination is to put the drums at the end with the highest ceilings, but then the sound might bounce back towards the drums off the sloped ceiling and sound generally weird. Recording drums is my biggest concern because they would have the most ambience attached to them.
Thanks for any help !!
