As I was trying to write this track I got to one part where I wanted about 8 bars of a really outside melody thing, so I put down like 32 bars of rhythm to go by and played to the whole thing. I ended up liking it all so now I have a bunch of shit to widdle down so I can record the rest of this song.

Anyway, I thought this sounded almost like a complete song - albeit a very wierd one, just like this. I figured I would share it before I choppoed it to bits. :D

I used Drumkit From Hell Superior, programming them with the mouse.
That whole final section is pretty boring as far as the drums go....I'll be changing that up eventually.

Jazz? For some reason I had you pegged as a "Metal" kind of dude. I don't know what ever gave me that idea. :D

Cool tune. Sounds good. Good playin' too. Keep going with it.

I wish I could play a bunch of instruments. All I can play is drums. I can't create too many full songs here on my own with that.

Oh well.

Thanks fellas.
Oh, I've done my fair share of metal! These last couple years I've just been impossibly drawn in multiple directions with the music I want to play....I'm in a jazzy mood lately.

I'm sure that someday they'll come out with "Guitarist From Hell" and "Bassist From Hell" and you can do the same thing I do, only in reverse.

Actually - they may already have both of those....I'm not sure :p

Sounds great. Just bring up the lead in the mix and I'd say you have a finished tune there. Do you ever listen to John Scofield?

Dude, thats like a Spinal Tap freeform jazz odyssey! :D

Pretty interesting. Nice sounds going on. Maybe bring the lead lines up some and drop the drums a little. Bass sounds great. Good job.

Thanks, Tim. I'm familiar with Scofield, but I don't have any of his stuff. Should I check it out?

You pegged it, strange but cool.

Could be a killer theme to a "Looking for someone in the woods" part, or maybe "running from an oversized woman in the bunnyranch" in a movie.

Vspace, I never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it :D

Thanks for the link Tim, I'll be checking it out.

porno music!

nice job on the drums dude, sounds great. the lead could use some boosting, bass tone is cool. excellent.

Cool stuff man. The vibe reminds me of Cynic or Meshuggah's softer parts. Drum programming is excellent.

Pretty cool! I agree with bringing up the lead. Perhaps a little more brightness might bring the lead to the front too. Other than that it's great. Now where did I put them mushrooms?

For some reason the very first part with that drum beat and that riff doesn't work for me. Seems a little too un-natural to me, But hey it's jazz:D

Great playing!

This just screams Atheist. Would you be interested in coming to Winston-Salem to do a project similar to this type of stuff (probably a lot more similar to Atheist)?

Oh yeah, and awesome job on this.

Ever seen Neal Peart play electronic pads and add real music into his drum solos
