I am not sure if I am happy with this yet, but here it is in the mean time.

No samples in this one. It was all done with mics. The only thing DI was the bass.

Cool remake but the vox don't agree with me so much. The mix is very flat and has I guess a muddiness to it. I know your not done with it yet so I'll check back.

Pretty good, man.
I would review parts of the vocal. Mix sounds pretty good, nice gutsy guitar sound. Very good performance too.

Joey :):):):)

Sounds like Larry the Cable Guy singing STP. :D

That guitar right up the middle makes it sound kind of cheap. It has no real space to it. It's like everything is up the middle while occasionally a guitar will peak out from the left. Get some spread in there. Are you sure you're playing this right? I'm not too familiar with the original, but I remember it, and some things just sound off.

gotta echo the comments of the other guys,,,,

sounds really promising, but the main three things that hit me are,

the original guitars are very wide.

the vocals in the original are a lot clearer,,,,,less low end??

and i think the original mite be quicker which helps it along..

but well done none the less :)

STP was an awesome band.

The single most irritating thing about them was the fake affected vocal accent.

Please do not copy the fake affected vocal accent, it makes me want to kill people.

Guitars need more tracks, they're not hairy enough. Drums need more reverb.

Nice cover, mang.

This is a new band. We are still working out the bugs so-to-speak. We don't really have anybody in the band who can sing lead that well. Just four average voices. We are actively seeking a vocalist/frontman for the band. (Although, last night's audition went very well. If he works out we can always add a new vocal track to this demo.)

I haven't listened to the original song until now. I agree our version needs another guitar track or something. I'll tell the guys. (Greg, I will pan them wider. Thanks.)

I am not sure what you mean. I think he sings into a megaphone when performing this song live but I don't know what they did in the studio version. On our version, the only effects on the vocal is short reverb. But I did compress it heavily. That may have distorted the highs a little.

Thanks for the help guys. I am sure it will shape up in time.

I think that he's talking about how all of the grunge vocalists sang like a drill sergeant with a mouth full of marbles.
