The Love Butler
Man, does this bother me.

Why can't ANY manufacturer just sell their friggin unit without bundling a recording software that I don't want, or I think flat-out sucks?

Example: The 800.00 recording unit I am interested in HAS to come with Cakewalk 9, which I despise.

Won't this obviously bring the price down if they stop this practice?

I mean, I can order a car without Firestones on them, so why is this happening?

This has got to piss others off around here, too.
Any comments?

You really have to take this on a case by case basis. Bundling EZ CD Creator with my burner was a great deal. That M-Audio bundle with a Delta1010 and Vegas was pretty smoking. But yes- some of these"deals" blow.

Considering PA9 is a discontinued product, I don't think it would change the price at all. They are bundling it just to get rid of the software because they have tons of them in their warehouse and wouldn't be able to sell them otherwise.

Simple business practice...

Then after they register it, they'll all get e-mails with an "upgrade to Sonar for $199.00 special"....
