Stooges cover - I need somebody

Here's my band the Flying Monkease (what's left of it - me and the singer) covering Iggy and the Stooges "I need somebody". I managed to con a real drummer in to playing drums for us -- our last regular drummer moved to Beaumont, TX. I even had to play bass because we can't find our bass player - argh

There's a TON of low end in that bass! My sub is about to jump down the hallway. I think you could shelve the bass somewhere down low and turn down those low sub frequencies. It's seriously rumbly.

There's a little disconnect in timing between the bass and the guitar. One or the other (or both) is dragging or rushing.

Guitar tones sound great, and vocals do too. Drums sound great to me, the crash on the left makes me wonder if the overheads could come down a dB or two. But the hihat sounds just about right so I think it's just that crash is a little loud. I know how it goes...not much you can do about that.

This was a fun listen. This is a song that I should know but I don't. I'll have to look up the original.

Thanks man - I'm a terrible bass player, and that's why I mix it so high - insecurity :) -- I'll fix that. The timing on the bass ain't getting any better until we find our bass player, I'm sad to say. [ok uploaded a fix for the bass over the original]

Yeah - the crash is a little loud. I think on an instrumental basis, it's not a great match for the rest of the kit (meaning it's louder than it should be in the room). I'll see if I can pull off some trick.

I don't know the original but I like this a lot. A lot of attitude from the singer. Good delivery. Everything sounds good to me except that one crash. Gotta do something about it.

I'm okay with the bass. If you lived a little closer, I'd help you out with that. I'm kinda half-heartedly looking for a band to play bass in.

haha - you're OK with the bass after I cut the crap out of it and re-uploaded :)

Wish you were in h-town. My daughter lives in Austin and I go out there sometimes - I'll try and PM you before I go next time to see if you're playing anywhere.
