I'm still having problems with my audition starting and stopping during recording. I've done everything I'm supposed to. I'm not using an effects, I'm adjusted my buffers, I even went out and got an external hard drive.

Funny thing is I've recorder 20 tracks and nothing went wrong. But on this one with only 7 tracks keeps stalling on me. Any suggestions.

WHat type of computer do you have and is the version of audition cracked or did you purchase it?

Hp Pavilion ze 4500 (AMD Athlon 2500 + 448 MB Ram) & Western Digital 160 GB external hard drive.

I bought Audition 1.0 unopened and downloaded the upgrade from Adobe.

That should be enough computer to do anything you want with 7 tracks.

If you've recorded and mixed 20 with the same software on the same computer, then here's my only suggestion. Sometimes, sessions just get screwed up. I'm not sure if it's a corrupted session file or what, but sometimes, the best thing to do is to just save the 7 tracks that you've recorded, delete the session, start a new session and import the tracks.

But if one of the audio files is bad, it won't work, lol.

GOOD LUCK!!!

What's options > settings > multitrack > playback buffer size set to? Say 2 seconds would be good.

Also right click on the mix gauge and ensure that it's set to mixahead at least 10 seconds.

Unplug the external drive and if necessary reset where the temp files reside, then see what happens. External drives sometimes seem to degrade overall performance.
