Do we put stickers on our beloved noise-makers? I really wanted some pin-up art from WW2 on my Tele. But I dunno.

It's your guitar

Are you looking to sell it later? Then maybe not, though depending on the graphic, how well it's done, and the popularity of the subject matter at the time you sell it, it can hurt or help the value. You immediatley narrow down the list of potential buyers when you do, though.

If you're like me, and tend to want to keep it for forever, then it's up to you. Of course, later on you may regret it when you change your mind about what you like, or it turns out to be collectible and you'd like to sell.

I have one that somebody put stickers on the pickguard, and I'd like to kick their ass, but that's because they're ones I don't like, and this particular pickguard is hard to come by (like I'd have to have one made).

But, it's your guitar, you can do whatever the hell you want. Don't worry about what somebody else thinks.

Personally, I think WWII pinups are cool.

Thanks man, I know Counting Crows' guitar player has an awesome one of a B17 chick on his Tele, it looks cool.

I just got a vinyl cut decal for my guitar. It was $20 but i got 6 of them. It is the junkocaster that I put together. I'd never sell it with all the cool parts that I put on it from my junk drawer, so resale value not an issue.

I like some sticker guitars. Some look plenty gay.

On my Squier Fat Telecaster (metallic green), I have an oval sticker on the upper hip...yellow background, black letters, that says I DIDN'T DO IT! On my Ibanez Artcore AG75TBS (translucent blue sunburst), I have a Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon sticker, and an Alice In Wonderland (Alice with the hooka smoking caterpillar) sticker on it. On my Johnson JG-622-E acoustic-electric bass, I've got a Bass Pro Shops sticker on the upper hip...mostly as a jibe to folks that jibe me with "how do you play a fish?" Got another Bass Pro Shops sticker for my Fender Standard Precision Bass (agave blue), and a Pink Panther face sticker somewhere, which will probably go on my Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 90, after I get the Bigsby B5 put on it.

lay the decal(s) on your guitar, take a pic, and we the jury will pass judgement. :D

And I go visit Mercenary Audio

just to see the pinups every so often. :)

You might go check them out to get some ideas.

NO! Why advertise for someone else, for free? That is like people wearing brand name clothing. If you don't own stock in the corporation....why advertise for them? Nike, Pepsi, Coke, ? Advertise yourself..you're Worth it. ;) ;) :D

So you're afraid he's going to advertise for WWII bombers?

BTW, if you try making your Instant Karma with milk instead of water, it turns out much better. :D

They'er not exactly stickers, but I have a dragonfly decal on the headstock or pickguard of all my guitars.

I never put stickers on my old Strat, but I bought a Telecaster (copy) and stickers somehow suit it. I also throw it around a lot more - I think Tele's can take it...

I think these 2 red devils compliment each other quite well. This is a Tele copy that had been in a smoky music shop and there was a price tag that was on the pickguard. After I removed the price sticker it was bright and white where the rest of the pickguard had yellowed-the sticker was a printshop photo I attached and put wide clear tape (2" wide) to make sure it stayed there. ;)

Only on my crappy guitar. My other (less crappy) one I don't put anything on it.

I have a friend who spray painted his acoustic green. Looks and sounds like shit now.

But he got a new one since then.

It has a really nice neck on it, I think the body is alder. It was the one with a top loading bridge that I converted to a thru the body. And it has the DiMarzio Chopper T in the bridge position as well-it was pretty nice as it was but she's a punchy little devil now-a rock & roll demon!

Oh yeah, the strap is perfect for it too, red and white spider web design, a gift from my Mrs. ;)
