I just came back from one of the most musically inspiring concerts I have ever been to. Celtic guitarist Steve Baughman from San Francisco teamed up with David Surrette, a multi instrumentalist from Maine, on a six-stop east coast tour, Montpelier Vt. being the last stop. Both are top shelf solo performers and both teach at instrument workshops across the country. But as a duo, the chemistry was like magic and the music simply incredible.
And as if that were not enough, I was privileged to spend the afternoon in a hands - on guitarist's workshop with Steve, exploring the mysteries of Orkney tuning (CGDGCD). There's something zen-like about this.
I may be exhausted and my fingers may hurt, but I feel like I've just been fed enough for the next year or two!
