I was just wondering if these "cents" that people refer to when using pitch shifters can be translated to octaves. I mean, If I want a guitar to sound like one is playing a lower register, and one about 3 octaves higher (picture the intro to "Wherever I may Roam" by Metallica), How can I get exactly 3 octaves. Is there a set rule or value or formula?
Thanks a million

1200 cents is 1 octave.... 3 octaves would be 3600 cents - very few pitch shifters can do 3 octave shifts.......

Why not just play a part that is three octaves higher than the original?
